FAQ
Play Group
If your child is 1.5 years old or older, enrolling them in pre-nursery can be an excellent step for their overall development.
At our playgroup, we deeply value cooperative play. However, it’s an essential skill that needs to be learned and nurtured in line with our social instincts. One of the most effective ways for children to grasp this concept is through observation. Our playgroup teachers and educators actively model cooperative play whenever possible, giving children a clear example of how it looks in action. By encouraging behaviours like taking turns, acting gently, and speaking kindly, we provide positive reinforcement. Before long, this kind of play will help ease social tensions and foster a supportive environment for all.
We start with brief separation times to help children develop trust that their caregiver will return. This gradual approach fosters mutual understanding and confidence. As these short separations become routine, we gradually increase the duration. Bringing a comfort item from home, such as a blanket, toy, or teddy bear, can be very reassuring for children.
It’s completely normal for a child to feel upset during their initial transition to playgroup. This reaction is a natural response to the love and care they have received. For each child, we create a personalized plan to support their unique needs during transitions and adjustments.
Nursery
At Little Ryders, most children start nursery between the ages of 3 and 4 years. However, specific age requirements may vary based on the school’s guidelines.
The initial weeks might involve some adjustment as your child becomes familiar with the new environment and routine. It’s normal for children to experience separation anxiety. Our teachers will gradually introduce them to class activities and help them settle in.
A typical day at Little Ryders includes a mix of activities such as free play, structured learning sessions, snack time, and rest periods. The schedule is designed to balance educational content with play and social interaction.
We provide regular updates through parent-teacher meetings, progress reports, and communication apps. You can also reach out to teachers via email or scheduled appointments for specific concerns or questions.
